This morning I listened to a video sent to me by a friend -- a heady little exploration of the intersections between spirituality and quantum physics. One of the scientists in the piece said, "The act of consciousness searching is the creative force that puts something in place."

purpose beyond my daily mundane life, then I become that "consciousness searching." I say to the universe, to life, to the Divine: "I see this possibility that has not yet become reality. I believe in it and I will give my time, energy and focus to make it so."
This gift of belief in and conscious searching for a Big Dream is how I define the Childhood Treasure of Faith. Real commitment to a life purpose is, indeed, a creative force that puts many things in place. For what are you consciously searching? And no, I don't mean the shiny new car or house you want. What is the change you wish to see in the world? What is your conscious searching creating, right now? What is being put in place that was not there before?
My Big Dream is to change the way we treat children in the United States. Big, right? Lots of kids, lots of maltreatment, some severe and very damaging, some seemingly benign but potentially still destructive to full potential. How do I not just give up? Why do I not tell myself, "You can't do that, you're just one person."?
Because every day that I believe that I can change the way we treat children in the United States -- REALLY believe it -- my conscious seeking for this Big Dream creates opportunities that were not there before. Every day of I can is a day that I do.

When my Faith is flowing through me like a river in flood, my day almost magically fills with opportunities to be the voice of a child, to be the little bit of support someone needs to ease the frustrations of parenting a bit. I can say, "No worries, I'll take care of these wet boots. You've got your hands full fixing the baby's bottle." And while I'm helping the Little Prince with his boots, I can talk with him about his experience in the puddles or the mud. I can become a model for any adult or older child within earshot, showing how to make the mundane, sometimes filthy tasks of parenting into moments of connection and shared experience. I can demonstrate the alternative to focusing on frustration and anger. After all, what's so important about a little mess on the floor, really, compared to a chance to learn that your child just saw some baby frogs?
What is this higher purpose, this Big Dream, for you? What is the one change you wish to see in the world, more than any other? What tragedy do you want to see end in your lifetime? What glorious possibility do you want to see emerge? Once you know what it is, begin to practice conscious searching. Seek that end state you desire; seek it every day and believe in it, although it seems impossible. The White Queen in Wonderland told Alice that she liked to believe in six impossible things every day before breakfast. Make this belief in impossibility your daily practice! Envision your Big Dream as reality and that act of conscious searching will create new possibilities.
And please, share your experiences with me!
My Big Dream is to end anxiety, lack of self worth and fear. My Big Dream is helping individuals know, truly know the truth of who they are so that anxiety, depression, lack of self-worth, and fear no longer exist in this world.
